Senior Associate

In order to strengthen its operational team, CDG Invest is calling for applications for the position of Senior Associate.

Reporting to one of the Investment Departments of CDG Invest, the Senior Associate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assisting the Investment Director to whom he/she reports in preparing and executing investment cases and monitoring and selling investments. He/she will be assigned to various projects, in various sectors and on various issues, according to need.
  • Obtaining regular reporting from the portfolio companies he/she is responsible for covering and forwarding it to senior staff.
  • Developing expertise in the sectors assigned to him/her.

Main activities of the position

More specifically, the Senior Associate will assist the Investment Director to whom he/she reports with:

  • Selecting and assessing target companies (deal flow monitoring, preliminary analysis of cases, meetings with potential targets, due diligence, etc.).
  • Examining investments (business, financial and legal analyses, due diligence, valuation, modelling, drafting of memos), management meetings, arranging co-investments, managing relations with advisers, negotiations, etc.
  • Preparing investment cases and monitoring them in conjunction with the support organisation.
  • Monitoring investments (summaries and presentations for the investment committee and the various ad hoc committees), reporting, modelling and valuation work, stock market analyses.
  • Reviewing exit scenarios for portfolio companies and implementing the selected disposal solutions.

Profile sought:

  • Master’s degree from business school or school of engineering, or equivalent from a good university. A specialist Master’s degree or additional training in market finance is desirable. Basic knowledge of business law is also a plus.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in private equity, corporate finance and/or a financial services organisation (transaction/advisory practice).
  • Previous experience with investing in, financing and/or assisting SMEs is particularly desirable.
